I hosted and Co-organized SUG Queen City, Manchester, NH meetup with The Sitecore Junkie Mike Reynolds.
We had this meetup on the 2nd Wednesday of this month.
We had two excellent presenters for this meetup from our renowned Sitecore Community.
Session #1:
Sitecore Solr Search with eDisMax – Steven Striga, Technical Lead at Verndale
Starting with 9.0, Sitecore offers new native support to use Solr eDisMax queries via the SolrNet APIs. The e/DisMax query parser interface is more like that of Google than the interface of the ‘standard’ Solr request handler. This presentation will introduce what eDisMax is, basic concepts, code walk through and demonstration.
Session #2:
ROAD TRIP: Discover the Wild World of Sitecore on Azure PaaS – Grant Killian, Sitecore MVP and Solutions Architect at Rackspace
We’ll explore the dramatic ecosystems of Azure SQL, towering mountains of Azure Search, the rich wilderness of App Insights, and of course — the remote and majestic destination of the **Azure App Services**. We’ll bring along our scuba equipment and dive into the troubleshooting processes for these PaaS services, careful not to disturb any wildlife that we encounter. This will be a hands-on “Diagnostic Deep Dive” road trip through a Sitecore 9 PaaS implementation running Sitecore Commerce as a reference. No vaccines are required or visiting Sitecore on Azure PaaS, but as always refer to the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/) for the most current travel updates and warnings.
You can find more details about this SUG here.
SUG Queen City is really thankful to the presenters for their time and sharing the knowledge with us. Looking forward for more meetups in upcoming months.
